Memphis let a convincing lead escape as they failed to covert key free throws in the remaining moments of regulation. This left the door open for Mario Chalmers to force overtime with a fall away 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Jayhawks then took care of business in OT and brought home their first National Championship in 20 years.

Despite trailing 40-12 late in the first half, the Tar Heels mounted a comeback to move them within five points with nine minutes left. North Carolina's valiant effort was not enough though, as Kansas quickly overpowered the Tar Heels on their way to a 84-66 victory. The win propelled the Jayhawks to a spot in the National Championship, where they took on the Memphis Tigers in an OT thriller.

Freshman Derrick Rose with 25 points and nine rebounds led the Tiger's to a convincing 78-63 victory over the Bruins and ultimately a spot in the Championship game against Kansas. This victory marked Memphis' 38th of the season, making them the winningest team ever in a single season. Chris Douglas-Roberts also delivered big time, as he added 28 points to the Tigers' total.

Derrick Rose's 21 points, nine assists, and six rebounds further validated his title as the South Regional Most Outstanding Player in a 85-76 win over Texas. The win sent the Tigers' on their first trip to the Final Four since 1985, where they defeated UCLA.

The Jayhawks earned a trip to the Final Four for the 13th time after ending Davidson's impressive run in the tournament. Despite the defeat, Davidson's Stephen Curry was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Midwest Region after compiling an astonishing 128 points in only four games.

The Tar Heels broke from a tie halfway through the second and never looked back on their way to claiming their 17th Final Four berth. Despite Louisville's impressive 53% shooting from the floor, North Carolina's defense limited the Cardinals point total enough to secure an 83-73 win and a chance to take on Kansas in the next round. National Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough further validated his title with 28 points and 13 rebounds.

UCLA's 53% completion rate propelled them to a dominating 76-57 victory over Xavier and secured them a spot in the Final Four for the third straight year. UCLA's Kevin Love scored 19 points and 10 rebounds while the Bruins' defense held the Musketeers to only 32% shooting from the floor. The Bruins went on to lose 78-63 to Memphis in the next round.

Texas' Dexter Pittman wore down Stanford's twin 7-footers in a crushing 82-62 victory. Although Stanford brought the game within one point midway through the second half, Texas's Damion James helped ignite a scoring frenzy with a dunk so spectacular, he couldn't help but celebrate on his way down from the net. Texas went on to face a ready and waiting Memphis in the Elite Eight.

In their third straight Sweet 16 appearance, John Calipari's crew dominated Michigan State 92-74, advancing the Tigers into the later rounds. Memphis' unmerciful 50-20 lead in the first half was highlighted by a thunderous jam from Antonio Anderson, a double-pump stuff by Derrick Rose, and a breakaway windmill dunk by Joey Dorsey [00:23:20;00]. By the way, Rose finished the night with 27 points and five-assists.

Four spectacular alley-oops, a flurry of early 3-pointers, and stellar play from Brandon Rush and Russell Robinson proved too much for Villanova to handle in a 72-57 win that propelled Kansas into the later rounds, including their first National Championship in 20 years.

Cinderella 10th seed Davidson routed the Wisconsin Badgers in a 73-56 upset. Davidson's win over the Badgers extended their winning streak to a jaw-dropping 25 in a row. Superstar Stephen Curry took it upon himself to outscore Wisconsin 22-20 in the second half. Curry finished the night with 33 points, including six 3-pointers.

Kevin Love's 14 rebounds and career-high 29 points capped a 88-78 win over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Despite a tremendous effort by Tyrone Brazelton who scored 31 points -- 25 in the second half alone -- UCLA advanced to the Elite Eight for a matchup with Xavier.

Tyler Hansbrough's 18 points and 9 boards led North Carolina to a 68-47 victory over Washington State. Not since 1946 has North Carolina held a team to less than 47 points in a NCAA game. Their balanced attack propelled North Carolina to the next round where they knocked the Louisville Cardinals out of the tournament.

In this OT thriller, Senior forward Josh Duncan's career high 26 points and a pair of long-range jumpers from B.J. Raymond in the last 1:18 of the game lifted Xavier past the Mountaineers 79-75. The win gave Xavier the chance to take on UCLA in the Elite Eight.

Louisville led the entire way throughout their 79-60 win over Tennessee. Earl Clark's 17 points and 12 rebounds helped earn the Cardinals a matchup against North Carolina in the Elite Eight. The win also moved the Cardinals' one game closer to giving coach Rick Patino's his sixth trip to the Final Four.
