The Florida Gators captured their second National Championship in a row by beating Ohio State 84-75. This was the first time a college had won back-to-back since 1992. Despite a great performance from Ohio State's Greg Oden, who had 25 points and 12 rebounds, Florida took control early in the first half and never looked back. The win also vindicated several players' decision to delay their plans for the NBA to have a shot at winning two in a row.

Florida's 76-66 victory over a tenacious UCLA team moved the Gators to within one win of becoming the National Champions for the second year in a row. Corey Brewer's 19 points, Lee Humphrey's multiple 3-pointers, and Alan Horford's 17 rebounds kept the Gators ahead for nearly the entire game. Florida's win over UCLA set up a battle for the title two days later against Ohio State.

When star Greg Oden got into foul trouble early, the rest of the team stepped up and carried Ohio State to a 67-60 win over Georgetown and scored the Buckeye's their first trip to the title game since 1962. Ohio State's Mike Conley Jr. came through with 15 points, six assists and five rebounds. When Oden did get back in the game, he added 13 points and eight rebounds, all in the second half alone.

A decisive 85-77 win over Oregon was made possible by Lee Humphrey's seven 3-pointers and Taurean Green's 21 points. The Gators advanced to the Final Four riding atop their 16th straight postseason win. The Gators' next stop was the Georgia Dome, where they faced off against the Bruins, a team waiting to avenge their loss to Florida in the National Championship one year earlier.

Georgetown came back from an 11-point deficit in the second half to push the game into overtime, only to then score 14 straight points to upset the top-seeded North Carolina 96-84 at the final buzzer. The stunning victory over the Tar Heels earned the Hoyas their first trip to the Final Four since 1985. Despite the loss, superstar Tyler Hansbrough recorded 26 points and 11 rebounds.

A big night from Aaron Afflalo helped No. 2 seed UCLA knock off first seed KU in a decisive 68-55 victory. Once again, the Bruin defense came through as UCLA led the entire second half. Affalo scored 24 points, including 15 in the second half, as his team rolled to the Final Four where they squared off against Florida.

Greg Oden's early foul trouble didn't stop him from leading the top seeded Ohio State Buckeyes on a 20-8 run in the second half to defeat Memphis 92-76. Senior Ron Lewis' 22 points further propelled the Buckeye's to their 21st straight victory and a chance to beat Georgetown in the Final Four.

The North Carolina Tar Heels overcame a 16 point deficit by imposing an 18-0 run on the USC Trojans halfway through the second quarter. The Tar Heels ended the night beating the Trojans 74-64 and securing a seat in the Elite Eight where they took on the Georgetown Hoyas.

Florida overcame a slow start on their way to winning a very physical 65-67 battle over Butler. The Gators overcame a scrappy Butler team with the help of Al Horford's points and seven boards. Tajuan Porter tied the regional record with eight 3-pointers as Oregon held off UNLV's comeback late in the game. With only :10 left, UNLV's Joe Darger brought the game to within two following a 3-pointer, however Bryce Taylor sealed the game moments later with two clutch free throws. Ultimately it was Porter's amazing 33 points that led the Ducks to victory and a chance to square off against reigning champ Florida in the Elite Eight.

The 66-65 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores propelled the Hoyas to their first regional final victory in 11 years. The Hoyas fared well in the Elite Eight as they rolled past North Carolina on their way to the Final Four.

The Bruins knocked No. 3 seed Pittsburgh out of the tournament with a 64-55 win at the HP Pavilion. The second seeded Bruins led the game the whole way with the help of a stingy UCLA defense which held Pitt to 38 percent from the field. The win advanced UCLA to the Elite Eight where they matched up against the Kansas Jayhawks, a team they had beaten four out of their last five meetings in the tournament.
