The University of Florida took an early lead and never looked back as they dominated UCLA in a 73-57 win to claim the national title. Joakim Noah led the Gators with 16 points, nine rebounds, and a record six blocks on their way to the program's first national title ever.

Lee Humphrey's three straight 3-pointers to start the second half signaled the beginning of the end to George Mason's improbable run in the tournament. Florida handed the Patriots a decisive 73-58 loss with the help of not only Humphrey's efforts from beyond the arc, but Corey Brewer's 19 points and Al Horford's 13 rebounds. Florida went on to beat UCLA 73-57 to win the tournament.

UCLA's defense continued its dominance during a 59-45 win over LSU. UCLA ended 10 years of tournament disappointment with the help of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute's 17 points and 9 rebounds. Hoping to clinch their 12th national title, UCLA advanced to the NCAA Championship where they squared off against Florida.

Eleventh seed George Mason stunned UCONN in an upset that earned them a spot in the Final Four. The Patriots beat the top seeded Huskies 86-84 despite being down by twelve points late in the first half. The Patriots came back in the second half with a flurry of three pointers to push the game into OT, where they went 5 for 6 from the field to finish off the Huskies.

Led by Joakim Noah's 21 points and a career high 15 rebounds, Florida defeated the top-seeded Villanova Wildcats 75-62. Villanova's Randy Foye tried to keep the game close with 25 points, however Florida picked up speed in the middle of the second half and never looked back. The win set them up for another win in the Final Four against George Mason, and ultimately a win in the final game of the season.

In this OT battle, Villanova defeated Boston College 60-59 after a critical goaltending call with just seconds left in the game. Randy Foye's 29 points led the top seeded Wildcats to the Elite Eight for a matchup against Florida.

LSU outlasted Texas in OT to win it 70-60 and earn their first trip to the Final Four in 20 years. Texas' Daniel Gibson made a 3 pointer in the last thirty seconds to push the game into overtime, however LSU outscored the Longhorns 18-8 in the remaining 5 minutes of OT. Glen Davis led the Tigers to victory and a chance in the Final Four with clutch play and an impressive 26 points.

UCLA beat No. 1 seed Memphis 50-45 to earn a trip to its first Final Four since 1995. Although this was the lowest scoring regional final since 1986, UCLA did not seem to mind as they celebrated their program's return to prominence after more than ten years of disappointment in the tournament. The Bruins went on to hold LSU to 45 points as well in their ensuing Final Four win.

George Mason advanced to its first Elite Eight in school history after beating Wichita State 63-55. The Patriots led by as much as 19 points in the second half, however, Wichita State staged a late comeback to bring the game within 7 points with less than a minute left. The Patriots ultimately held on and advanced to the next round where they upset UCONN 86-84.

Connecticut's Rashad Anderson hit a clutch three-pointer in the last few seconds to tie the game at 82-82 and push the game into overtime. After a quick break, the two teams continued the battle, with Connecticut eventually coming out on top 98-92. The win earned the Huskies a spot in the Elite Eight where they fell to George Mason in an OT thriller.

Corey Brewer's acrobatic shots and a three point play with only :27 left in the game helped push Florida past Georgetown in a 57-53 victory. The 30-6 Gators' went on to play top seeded Villanova in the Elite Eight, the first time the Gators had made it that far in the tournament since 2000.

With only seven seconds remaining in the game, West Virginia's Kevin Pittsnogle hit a game-tying three-pointer. However moments later, the Longhorns stunned the crowd when Kenton Paulino made a buzzer-beating three-point basket to win the game 74-71. LeMarcus Aldridge's 26 points helped pave the way for Texas to reach the Elite Eight where they met up with a tough LSU.

Rodney Carney's electrifying dunks sparked Memphis throughout an 80-64 win that spoiled Bradley's Cinderella story. Carney finished the night with 23 points, while Darius Washington Jr.'s 18 points and Shawne Williams 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks rounded out an offense ready to take on UCLA in the Elite Eight.

LSU handed Duke an upset with a 62-54 loss on their way to the later rounds. Shelden Williams posted solid numbers with 23 points and 13 rebounds, however LSU's stingy defense kept the other Blue Devils in check, and thus earning a spot in the Elite Eight where they beat Texas by ten.

UCLA scored 11 points and a comeback victory in the final :20 against Gonzaga. Despite Adam Morrison's 24 points and an offense that dominated UCLA for most of the game, Gonzaga could not stop the Bruin's last minute heroics. UCLA's went on to win two more games until finally losing to Florida in the National Championship.
