The University of Connecticut Huskies jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they ran away with the 2004 National Championship in an 82-73 win over Georgia Tech. All-American Emeka Okafor recorded his 24th double-double of the season with 24 points and 15 rebounds and Ben Gordon added an impressive 21 points himself.

UConn rallied from behind scoring 12 straight to beat Duke 79-78 in an unforgettable comeback. UConn's Ben Gordon and All-American Emeka Okafor each scored 18 points in a thriller that led the Huskies to the National Championship where they walked away victorious against Georgia Tech.

With only :25 left in the game, Oklahoma State's John Lucas nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game. Moments later, Georgia Tech's Will Bynum scored the game winning layup with only 1.5 seconds left on the clock. This spectacular 67-65 win against Oklahoma earned the Yellow Jackets a spot in the National Championship where they faced off against an unstoppable UConn.

No. 1 seed Duke edged out Xavier in a 66-63 game that allowed the Blue Devils to reach the next round. Duke's Luol Deng led the night with 19 points while an injured Chris Duhon kept the Musketeers defense in check. The close win advanced Duke into the Final Four where they met the UConn Huskies in a down-to-the-wire thriller.

UConn led Alabama convincingly the entire game thanks to amazing performances by Ben Gordon and Rashad Anderson. Gordon netted 36 points while Anderson added a career high 28 points to a 87-71 win over the Crimson Tide. UConn advanced to the Final Four where they barely pulled out a victory against Duke.

With :27 left on the clock Pat Carrol's 3 pointer gave St. Joseph's a one-point lead. With only :08 left , Josh Lucas erased that lead with a 3 pointer of his own to win the game 64-62. Oklahoma State's win earned them a spot in the Final Four, where the tables turned and they lost by two points to Georgia Tech.

With the game tied and only 1:30 left on the clock, No. 3 seed Georgia Tech went on a 5-0 run to hold off the Nevada Wolfpack in a 72-67 victory. The win propelled the Yellow Jackets into Elite Eight, Final Four, and eventually the National Championship where they matched up against the unstoppable UConn Huskies.

Kansas forward Wayne Simien's 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists led Kansas to a 100-74 blowout over the UAB Blazers. Kansas made it to the Elite Eight, however they met a tough Georgia Tech squad that knocked them out earlier than expected, given they had momentum coming off a 100 point game.

Playing with a painful rib injury, Duke's Chris Duhon inspired his team to deliver a 72-62 win over Illinois by snagging a career-high 10 rebounds and dishing out eight assists. The game was close until about midway through the second half when the Blue Devil's took off and grabbed their spot in the Elite Eight and eventually the Final Four.

Xavier's Romain Sato scored 27 points to help the Musketeers defeat the Texas Longhorns 79-71. The game was nearly tied with :17 left on the clock, but seven free throws later, Xavier pulled out with the win and advanced to the Elite Eight where they squared off against Duke.

After 36 minutes of close play, Oklahoma State stepped on the gas to earn a spot in the Elite Eight. Tony Allen led the way with 23 points and 7 rebounds as the Cowboys scored a 63-51 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

UConn's Ben Gordon led the way with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists as the second seeded Huskies sped past Vanderbilt in a 73-53 win. The decisive victory advanced UConn to the Elite Eight where they took care of business against the Crimson Tide.

Delonte West's 24 points paired with Tyrone Barely's great defensive play allowed top seeded Saint Joseph's to edge out Wake Forest in an 84-80 victory. Saint Joseph's led throughout of the second half, but the Demon Deacons made it interesting when they brought the game within two points in the last :20. In the end, the Hawks earned a trip to the Elite Eight where they matched up against Oklahoma State.

Earnest Shelton's 22 points and Chuck Davis' 17 second half points helped the No. 8 seed Crimson Tide roll past defending champs Syracuse in an 80-71 victory. The win gave Alabama a chance to take on UConn in the Elite Eight.
