No. 1 seed Duke edged out Xavier in a 66-63 game that allowed the Blue Devils to reach the next round. Duke's Luol Deng led the night with 19 points while an injured Chris Duhon kept the Musketeers defense in check. The close win advanced Duke into the Final Four where they met the UConn Huskies in a down-to-the-wire thriller.

UConn led Alabama convincingly the entire game thanks to amazing performances by Ben Gordon and Rashad Anderson. Gordon netted 36 points while Anderson added a career high 28 points to a 87-71 win over the Crimson Tide. UConn advanced to the Final Four where they barely pulled out a victory against Duke.

The game was close until about midway through the second half when the Blue Devil's took off and grabbed their spot in the Elite Eight and eventually the Final Four.

Xavier's Romain Sato scored 27 points to help the Musketeers defeat the Texas Longhorns 79-71. The game was nearly tied with :17 left on the clock, but seven free throws later, Xavier pulled out with the win and advanced to the Elite Eight where they squared off against Duke.
