The Terps outlasted UConn 90-82 with strong closing performances by Juan Dixon and Lonny Baxter. Dixon, Maryland's all-time leading scorer, ended the night with 27 points and Baxter finished with 29 points and nine rebounds. Maryland went on to run the table in the next two rounds and ultimately become the 2002 national champions.
