After a quick break, the two teams continued the battle, with Connecticut eventually coming out on top 98-92. The win earned the Huskies a spot in the Elite Eight where they fell to George Mason in an OT thriller.

The No.4 seed Louisville Cardinals took down No.1 seed Washington in a 93-79 victory. Francisco Garcia's 23 points and Ellis Myles' 13 boards helped seal the win and carry the Cardinals off to the Elite Eight where they staged a miraculous comeback to beat West Virginia in overtime.
