Salim Stoudamire made an off-balance jumper with 2.8 seconds left to win the game for the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona's Hassan Adams scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds, but the top scorer of the night was the Cowboys' Joey Graham who netted 26 points. The Wildcats' thrilling 79-78 victory over Oklahoma State propelled Arizona to the Elite Eight where they faced Illinois in another thriller that went down-to-the-wire.

With only :25 left in the game, Oklahoma State's John Lucas nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game. Moments later, Georgia Tech's Will Bynum scored the game winning layup with only 1.5 seconds left on the clock. This spectacular 67-65 win against Oklahoma earned the Yellow Jackets a spot in the National Championship where they faced off against an unstoppable UConn.

With :27 left on the clock Pat Carrol's 3 pointer gave St. Joseph's a one-point lead. With only :08 left , Josh Lucas erased that lead with a 3 pointer of his own to win the game 64-62. Oklahoma State's win earned them a spot in the Final Four, where the tables turned and they lost by two points to Georgia Tech.

After 36 minutes of close play, Oklahoma State stepped on the gas to earn a spot in the Elite Eight. Tony Allen led the way with 23 points and 7 rebounds as the Cowboys scored a 63-51 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers.

After nearly blowing a 17-point second-half lead, the Gators held on to defeat Oklahoma State 77-65 and advance to the Final Four for the second time in school history. Mike Miller's 14 points and five rebounds led a balanced Florida attack as they took one step closer to a title game against Michigan State.

Oklahoma State barely knocked off a tenacious Seton Hall squad after a 68-66 victory at the Carrier Dome. With several starters playing through injuries, the Pirates hung tough until the very end, however, Glendon Alexander's 3-of-4 free throws in the last few moments sealed the win for the Cowboys as they squeezed into the Elite Eight for a chance to square off against Florida.
