West Virginia edged out Kentucky 73-66 and advanced to the school's first Final Four visit since 1959. Freshman phenom John Wall led the night's scoring with 19 points while WVU's defense closed down lanes and kept the Wildcats' big men in check. The next stop for the Mountaineers was in Indy.

Kentucky ended Cornell's captivating run through the tournament by issuing a 62-45 rout in front of what was essentially a home crowd at the Carrier Dome. Cornell struck first by jumping out 10-2, however Kentucky soon closed the gap and never looked back. The win clinched Kentucky's berth in the Elite Eight and a chance to square off against a tough West Virginal squad.

Touted as one of the most exciting games played in Tournament history, this thriller featured a last second 3 pointer to tie the game, a pivotal instant replay, and a double OT. At the end of the day, Shannon Brown's 24 points and solid play in the second OT earned Michigan State a spot in the Final Four where they squared off against North Carolina.

The Kentucky Wildcats shot an amazing 62 percent to beat the Utes 62-52. Kentucky's two 7-footers pestered All-American sophomore Andrew Bogut all night, though he still turned in 20 points in his last game of the season. The win gave the Wildcats a chance match up against Michigan State in one of the most exciting games in tournament history.

Dwyane Wade's 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists allowed Marquette to extend their winning streak to 26 as they knocked off Kentucky during a decisive 83-69 win. Marquette advanced to the Final Four for the first time since 1977, however, their title run was cut short when they lost in a blowout against Kansas.

With star Keith Bogans out with a sprained left ankle, Marquis Estill scored a career-high 28 points as the top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats posted their 26th victory in a row with a 63-57 win over the Wisconsin Badgers. The victory put the Wildcats on a collision course with Marquette in the Elite Eight.

Led by Juan Dixon's 19 points and seven rebounds, Maryland took one step closer to becoming the 2002 national champs after beating Kentucky 78-68. The Terrapins' next win came against UConn in the Elite Eight, followed by a solid performance against Kansas in the Final Four.

USC advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1954 after beating Kentucky 80-76. Kentucky freshman Jason Parker sparked a 22-3 run that threatened USC's victory, however, David Bluthenthal's three 3-pointers and clutch free throws helped seal the game and secure the Trojans a spot against top-seeded Duke in the Elite Eight. Bluthenthal finished with 27 points and 3 rebounds on the night, while Kentucky's Jason Parker and Keith Bogans combined forces for a total of 45 points.
