Kentucky ended Cornell's captivating run through the tournament by issuing a 62-45 rout in front of what was essentially a home crowd at the Carrier Dome. Cornell struck first by jumping out 10-2, however Kentucky soon closed the gap and never looked back. The win clinched Kentucky's berth in the Elite Eight and a chance to square off against a tough West Virginal squad.

The Kentucky Wildcats shot an amazing 62 percent to beat the Utes 62-52. Kentucky's two 7-footers pestered All-American sophomore Andrew Bogut all night, though he still turned in 20 points in his last game of the season. The win gave the Wildcats a chance match up against Michigan State in one of the most exciting games in tournament history.

Dwyane Wade's 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists allowed Marquette to extend their winning streak to 26 as they knocked off Kentucky during a decisive 83-69 win. The victory put the Wildcats on a collision course with Marquette in the Elite Eight.

Bluthenthal finished with 27 points and 3 rebounds on the night, while Kentucky's Jason Parker and Keith Bogans combined forces for a total of 45 points.
